My name is Dr. Vincent Corsello and despite living most of my life in Northern New Jersey, I am actually a native New Yorker. I graduated from Herricks High School in Long Island in 1981. Even at that time I knew that I was a “Dentist in the Making.”
I truly believe that I owe a great deal of gratitude to my orthodontist, Dr. Daniel Weinstock, who was beyond a great guy. He noticed that I had interest in teeth even at the early age of thirteen. It was his style to patiently spend extra time explaining how things worked. To this day, I am truly grateful for his time and patience in showing me his piece of dentistry.
My pursuit of a BS in Biology degree, focused on a Pre-Dental course curriculum, began at Hofstra University in West Hempstead, New York. After spending two years there, I followed my family to Cedar Knolls, New Jersey as my father’s position with Warner Lambert had been transferred to Morris Plains. Two years later, I graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Madison) with a Summa Cum Laude Honors Bachelor of Science Degree.
The next four years were spent at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMD NJ) in Newark. Graduating in the top 25% of my class, I received my Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in June 1989. That summer I was selected to receive a prestigious position at Morristown Memorial Hospital, being one of three residents to fill their General Practice Residency Program.
Dr. Corsello has been named a Top Dentist by NJ Top Dentists in New Jersey 2003.
In April of 1990, Dr. Richard Carrara and I started practicing together in the heart of Morristown. The establishment of Morristown Dental Associates was born. Later that year, I married my long distance love of my life, Gail. Today we share a home in Denville with our two children.
Dentistry is a profession that is constantly seeing new techniques, new materials and inventions. When I am not present in a classroom taking Continuing Education or curled up in my favorite chair with my newest Journal, I try to find time for my special interests. These hobbies include watching New York Rangers hockey, which I have been a team fan since age 8. I enjoy high performance cars and their mechanical upkeep. I find auto detailing a fun, relaxing and rewarding hobby. It offers beauty and fine detail on a much larger scale than the daily small confines of the mouth.
However my best free time spent is the time I spend with my family and trying to make each and every moment count.

Your peace of mind and comfort are of the utmost importance to us.
Sometimes after dental treatment, teeth are sensitive to hot and cold. This should not last long, but only if the mouth is kept clean. If the mouth is not kept clean the sensitivity will remain and could become more severe. If your teeth are especially sensitive consult with your doctor. They may recommend a medicated toothpaste or mouth rinse made especially for sensitive teeth.
There are so many products on the market it can become confusing and choosing between all the products can be difficult. Here are some suggestions for choosing dental care products that will work for most patients.
Automatic and “high-tech” electronic toothbrushes are safe and effective for the majority of the patients. Oral irrigators (water spraying devices) will rinse your mouth thoroughly, but will not remove plaque. You need to brush and floss in conjunction with the irrigator. We see excellent results with electric toothbrushes called Rotadent and Interplak.
Some toothbrushes have a rubber tip on the handle, this is used to massage the gums after brushing. There are also tiny brushes (interproximal toothbrushes) that clean between your teeth. If these are used improperly you could injure the gums, so discuss proper use with your doctor.
Fluoride toothpastes and mouth rinses, if used in conjunction with brushing and flossing, can reduce tooth decay as much as 40%. Remember, these rinses are not recommended for children under six years of age. Tartar control toothpastes will reduce tartar above the gum line, but gum disease starts below the gum line so these products have not been proven to reduce the early stage of gum disease.
Anti-plaque rinses, approved by the American Dental Association, contain agents that may help bring early gum disease under control. Use these in conjunction with brushing and flossing.
Daily brushing and flossing will keep dental calculus to a minimum, but a professional cleaning will remove calculus in places your toothbrush and floss have missed. Your visit to our office is an important part of your program to prevent gum disease. Keep your teeth for your lifetime.

Staff is excellent! I asked Bobbie many questions and she never once made me feel like I was a bother. Hygienist Deb was very careful during cleaning asking me how I was doing every step of the way. Doctor Corsella is by far the best dentist I have been to in my 64 years. Very caring and communicative. Made me feel like my dental care was something I was participating in instead of something that was happening to me. Would very highly recommend care at this practice!
